Andhra Pradesh Targets 2 Million Jobs with SEEDAP Skill Development and Enterprise Initiatives
In a significant move toward boosting youth employment, Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh emphasized the Andhra Pradesh government’s ambitious goal of creating two million jobs over the next five years. The initiative aims to empower economically disadvantaged families by fostering enterprise development and self-employment.
On Thursday, the Society for Employment Generation and Enterprise Development in Andhra Pradesh (SEEDAP) formalized partnerships with three prominent organizations: 2COMS Group, the Food Processing Society, and Centurion Enterprises. The agreements were signed at Undavalli under the guidance of SEEDAP Chairman Deepak Reddy, with Minister Lokesh overseeing the event.
The collaboration with 2COMS Group focuses on facilitating international employment in fields such as healthcare, nursing, and mechatronics. Over the next two years, 2,000 individuals are set to receive skill training, along with visa support, for job opportunities in countries like Germany and Qatar.
In another strategic move, SEEDAP joined hands with Centurion Enterprises to bolster the state’s food processing industry. Plans are underway to establish 30,000 food processing units by 2029. This partnership will also train 679 District Resource Persons (DRPs) and deliver skill development programs to rural youth, targeting industries like smart agriculture, garments, and drone technology. The initiative is expected to create 30,000 jobs in the next two years.
Minister Lokesh highlighted SEEDAP’s commitment to large-scale skill development in rural areas, which includes programs aimed at facilitating overseas employment. These efforts underline the state government’s vision to empower its youth through sustainable and inclusive employment opportunities.
