Another case is filed by the AP CID against CBN
Clearly, the government of Andhra Pradesh is determined to keep Chandrababu in prison for as long as possible. The CID has lodged a new case against Chandrababu after remanding him in the skill development case. Today, AP CID filed a Prisoner Transfer (PT) petition with the Vijayawada ACB court in relation to the AP Fibre Grid case. The case was approved by the court.
The argument is that Chandrababu illegally awarded the Fibre Grid contract to the TerraSoft company. The ACB filed a PT case mere minutes after the High Court adjourned the hearing in the skill development case and set the decision for September 21. Today's court proceedings were such that CBN's solicitors made it abundantly plain that this case is a political vendetta.
TDP leaders now argue that AP CID submitted this new case today in anticipation of the High Court dismissing the skill case on September 21. The intent appears to be that Naidu must be incarcerated. If that is indeed the case, it will become abundantly evident that the AP government intends to keep CBN in jail by any means necessary. With elections not too far away, this could backfire poorly in the eyes of the public.
