Another setback for BJP - MLA Vishnu Kumar Raj quits BJP?
It is been a tough time for BJP in AP with many party leaders leaving or having plans to quit the party. While BJP is still trying to recover from Rajahmundry Urban MLA Akula Satyanarayana's resignation who intends to join Jana Sena Party on January 21st, BJP received another setback with the recent sensational comments by BJP floor leader Vishnu Kumar Raju. He said on Friday, 'Poll Prospects of BJP in AP doesn't look good. That is why Leaders have been quitting the party,'.
This comment has hinted BJP of Vishnu's intentions of leaving BJP. However when asked Vishnu said that he will fulfill his entire term of 5 years for which he was elected and will take a final call only after completion of his tenure.
Ever since Vishnu had shown his intentions of leaving BJP many political parties approached him asking him to join the party. YCP leaders had asked Raju to contest 2019 elections on their party ticket from Vizag North. However, he had rejected their proposal
However, there are speculations that Vishnu will join TDP ahead of the 2019 general elections. Rumors are spread in political circles that the TDP leadership has not appointed any party in-charge for Vizag North assembly segment just because it wants Raju to contest next elections from here. It is time that will decide the date of BJP and it will be fascinating to see where Vishnu Kumar Raju will be heading as he enjoys the support of the majority and is of key importance to BJP in upcoming elections.
