Arun Jaitley slams congress on taking credit for anti-satellite weapon
India on Wednesday successfully tested Anti-satellite missiles. However, Congress was slammed by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Wednesday as they took credit for the mission saying that the process to make these missiles started during UPA government.
Jaitley said that the Congress government had not given permission for the tests despite India being ready and capable of it. He further mentioned that it was approved by PM Modi in 2014. He said, "Those who are patting their backs today should remember that our scientists had the capability to build anti-satellite missiles a decade ago, but the then government never gave them permission."
Terming it as a historic moment PM Modi had made the announcement of Mission Shakti's success while addressing to the nation. However, many political leaders slammed him for doing it to influence voters and to take benefit of it in Lok Sabha elections.
