BCCI declares ‘no alteration in WC schedule’ as Hyderabad prepares for back-to-back matches.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said the matches in Hyderabad could not be moved, so the Hyderabad Cricket Association is getting ready to host two matches in a row.
On October 9 (New Zealand vs. Netherlands) and October 10 (Pakistan vs. Sri Lanka), ICC Men's World Cup games will be held in Hyderabad. But the HCA asked the Indian cricket board to change the date because it was hard to set up security.
Since Rajiv Shukla, the vice president of BCCI and the person in charge of the venue, made it clear that the plan wouldn't change, the HCA has no choice but to go ahead. "So, we've decided to go ahead with the matches as planned, and the Commissioner of Police has given us his word that everything will be done to keep the two matches safe," a high-ranking HCA official said.
