BRS Celebrates Telangana Formation Day with Patriotism and Criticism

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) marked Telangana Formation Day with grand celebrations both within the state and across the world. The main event took place at Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad, where top leaders including T Harish Rao, S Madhusudhana Chari, and MLC K Kavitha participated with fervour. National and party flags were hoisted, and floral tributes were paid to Telangana Thalli, Prof. K Jayashankar, and martyrs of the Telangana movement.
The celebrations were filled with patriotic slogans, drum beats, and cheers for BRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR). Leaders such as P Sabita Indra Reddy, Mallareddy, Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, and Vinod Kumar joined the festivities, which included cake cutting and speeches honouring the sacrifices made for statehood.
K Kavitha led a separate event at the Telangana Jagruthi office in Banjara Hills, criticising the Congress government and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for failing to honour the spirit of Telangana. She condemned the absence of the “Jai Telangana” slogan and accused the Congress of forgetting the state’s roots.
BRS leaders also led events abroad. In Australia, Talasani Srinivas Yadav praised KCR’s leadership and predicted BRS’s strong comeback. In Malaysia, NRI president Maruthi Kurma honoured Telangana martyrs and called for expanding the Telangana model nationwide.
While the celebrations highlighted pride and cultural identity, they were also marked by sharp political attacks. BRS leaders accused the Congress of abandoning the state’s founding ideals and vowed to restore the spirit of Telangana if returned to power. The party used the occasion not just to celebrate, but to rally support and reassert its position as the true torchbearer of Telangana’s legacy.
