BRS’s ‘Congress Dues Card’ Campaign Strikes a Chord Across Telangana

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi’s (BRS) “Congress Dues Card” campaign, spearheaded by KT Rama Rao, is gaining massive traction across Telangana. The initiative exposes 420 unfulfilled promises made by the Congress government, resonating strongly with voters ahead of the upcoming local body elections.
The pink party’s door-to-door campaign lists promises such as Rs 2,500 for women, Rs 6,000 for the disabled, Rs 4,000 pensions for the elderly, and gold coins for women under welfare schemes. Each card, according to BRS leaders, serves as a “receipt of betrayal,” reminding people of the Congress’s pre-poll assurances that remain unfulfilled.
In response, the Congress launched a counter “BRS Betrayal Card” campaign, but it has failed to gain traction. Political observers note that the Congress’s attempt to highlight BRS’s past failures has backfired, further amplifying public anger over the ruling party’s own inaction.
Reports from across districts indicate growing discontent among farmers, women, and pensioners, many of whom are refusing to engage with Congress leaders. “People are openly questioning Congress MLAs about their broken promises,” said a senior BRS functionary.
Sensing the campaign’s impact, the Congress held emergency meetings to manage the fallout, but analysts believe BRS has successfully turned public disappointment into political momentum. With the campaign intensifying statewide, BRS has effectively set the narrative ahead of the local polls — transforming voter frustration into a powerful electoral weapon against the Congress government.
