Bandla Ganesh has been sentenced to one year in prison for bouncing a cheque.

Bandla Ganesh, renowned film producer and working president of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee, has been handed a significant blow as he faces a one-year prison sentence in connection with a cheque bounce case. The incident traces back to 2019 when Ganesh borrowed a sum of Rs. 95 lakh from Jetti Venkateswarlu, a resident of Muppalla village. To repay the debt, Ganesh issued a cheque on behalf of Parameshwara Art Productions. However, when Venkateswarlu attempted to encash the cheque, it bounced, signaling either insufficient funds or other underlying issues.
Promptly reacting to the bounced cheque, Venkateswarlu lodged a complaint with the authorities, setting off a legal process. Following a thorough investigation by the police, which confirmed the invalidity of the cheque, the case was brought before the second munsif magistrate court in Ongole.
After due deliberation and presentation of arguments, the court delivered its verdict, sentencing Ganesh to one year of imprisonment. Additionally, Ganesh was instructed to repay the borrowed sum of Rs. 95 lakh. However, the court has granted Ganesh the opportunity to contest the ruling by appealing to a higher court within a month's time.
This development marks a significant setback for Ganesh, whose prominence in the film industry and political arena now faces scrutiny amidst this legal predicament. As he navigates the legal process and weighs his options, the outcome of the case remains uncertain, leaving both Ganesh and his supporters on edge.
