Bathukamma 2023: Commencing today is a nine-day floral festival

The largest event in Telangana state for women, Bathukamma festivities, will begin today. Everyone is getting ready to play street vadavana bathukamma games, from girls to old women. For nine days, Prativeedhi will be aglow with the lavish Bathukamma celebrations.

Telangana folk melodies, such as Rama Ram Uyya, Ramane Sri Rama Uyya, and Antu Uyya, will enchant the state. This nine-day celebration, which ladies celebrate, is even more meaningful as of right now. gorgeously adorned with wild flowers including gourds, tangedu, balls, gunugu, and lotus flowers. After that, all the men and women congregate in one location, where the goddess is revered for nine days during the evenings with songs, folk dances, and kolats.

The large bathukammas are heaped up on the ninth day, and all the women play instruments before dipping them into the local pond. It is traditional to submerge exquisitely designed bathukammas, adorned with a variety of flowers, into the village pond. Elders, however, assert that there is science underlying this ancient practice. It's been said that the water that emerges during the rainy season contains microorganisms that are dangerous to humans.
