CEO to Take Firm Action on Parties for deletion of Voters
AP’s Chief Electoral Officer Gopal Krishna Dwivedi booked police cases after getting a number of applications for deletion of voters in the state.
Dwivedi asked the police to book 45 cases in 9 districts. He confirmed that strict action would be taken against those who are misusing form-7 for removal of names of eligible voters.
During the last 10 days, 7 lakh applications under form-7 were received. CEO asked officials to find out who are sending online applications and ordered to take action on them.
Recently, YSRCP alleged that TDP was identifying voters who opposed the government through various surveys and deleting them. TDP too made similar allegations on YSRCP.
After this, the CEO finally involved and confirmed that the name of no eligible voter will be deleted. The Lok Sabha polls of Andhra Pradesh are likely to be held in April or May.
