CWC dismisses Rahul Gandhi’s plea to step-down as Party president

A significant meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) on Saturday collectively dismissed Rahul Gandhi's plea to step down as party president after the Lok Sabha poll disaster and approved him to update and rebuild the party at all dimensions.

The gathering pondered on the purposes for the Congress' thrashing in the elections for four extended periods of time with different leaders encouraging Mr. Gandhi to keep on giving leadership to the party.

"Congress President Rahul Gandhi in his location to the CWC offered his abdication as the party president. The CWC consistently and with one voice dismissed the equivalent and mentioned the Congress President for his leadership and direction in these difficult occasions," said the goals have gone by CWC.

The CWC "unanimously" called upon the Rahul Gandhi to lead the party in its ideological fight and to support the reason for India's childhood, the farmers, the SC, ST, OBCs, the minorities, poor people and the denied segments, it said.
