Centre Reviews COVID Situation And People Advised To Mask Up.

A sudden spike in COVID cases in China and other countries prompted the Union health minister to review the situation in India and advise people to follow COVID-appropriate behavior, including wearing masks in crowded places and getting vaccinated.
In light of the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in many countries around the world, including China, Japan, South Korea, France, and the US, Mandaviya stressed the need to be prepared and vigilant against new and emerging strains of COVID-19, particularly as the holiday season approaches.
Airports will test random samples of international passengers arriving from China and other countries, according to official sources.
At the meeting, experts and senior officials briefed the minister on the global COVID-19 situation and the domestic scenario, including how stakeholders are prepared.
Following the meeting, NITI Aayog member (Health) Dr V K Paul pointed out that only 27-28% of Indians have taken the COVID-19 precaution dose.
“People should wear masks in crowded areas. Those with comorbidities and old should especially adhere to this,” Paul said.
The government will again hold a meeting next week to monitor the situation.
