Chandrababu Naidu Forms Task Force to Accelerate Industrial Growth in Andhra Pradesh
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced the formation of a special task force on Friday aimed at fast-tracking industrial development across the state. This decision followed a significant meeting with Tata Group Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran, where discussions primarily centered on Tata’s expansion in Andhra Pradesh.
“We are focused on attracting investments to the state, and the TDP-led NDA Government has decided to establish a special task force to provide recommendations on industrial development and building a ‘Swarna’ Andhra Pradesh,” Naidu stated. Officials indicated that several key suggestions emerged from the meeting. The task force, chaired by the Chief Minister with Chandrasekaran as co-chairman, will include other industrial leaders and sector experts to develop strategic plans for investment and implementation.
The task force will prioritize actions to position Andhra Pradesh as the leading state in India by 2027. Additionally, the state government has decided to establish the Centre for Global Leadership in Amaravati, in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), with Tata playing a crucial role.
Furthering the state’s industrial ambitions, a Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Development Centre will be established in Visakhapatnam. Naidu and Chandrasekaran also explored opportunities for expanding Air India and Vistara Airlines operations within the state, alongside potential developments in solar energy, telecommunications, and food processing.
Naidu, who recently returned to power, is keenly focused on drawing industrial investments and creating IT and electronic hubs across Andhra Pradesh. During his Independence Day speech in Vijayawada, Naidu expressed confidence in reclaiming the state’s former glory, emphasizing the government's commitment to "Simple government, effective governance." He also announced that while the central government pursues its Viksit Bharat-2047 vision, Andhra Pradesh is crafting its Vision-2047 to achieve a developed state by 2047, with more details to be revealed on October 2.
