Chandrababu Naidu Lauds ISRO's Historic PSLV-C60 and SpaDeX Mission
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu hailed the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for the successful launch of the PSLV-C60 mission, calling it a "milestone" in India’s space exploration journey. The mission, which included the pioneering Space Docking Experiment (SpaDeX), marked a crucial step forward in advancing India's capabilities in human spaceflight and satellite servicing.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Naidu congratulated ISRO, stating:
"Congratulations to @isro on the successful PSLV-C60 mission from Sriharikota, marking another space milestone! SpaDeX is a pioneering mission to establish India's capability in orbital docking, a crucial step for future human spaceflight and satellite servicing. This success has propelled India closer to ambitious goals like Chandrayaan-4, Moon sample return, and the Bharatiya Antariksh Station."
About the SpaDeX Mission
Launched from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh, the PSLV-C60 mission featured SpaDeX, a cost-effective technology demonstrator. The mission demonstrated India’s indigenous docking technology, known as the "Bharatiya Docking System," by successfully enabling two small spacecraft—SDX01 (Chaser) and SDX02 (Target)—to rendezvous, dock, and undock in low-Earth orbit.
Mastering docking technology places India among a select group of nations capable of this advanced feat, which is essential for long-term space exploration, including upcoming missions like Chandrayaan-4, the Indian space station project, and the manned Gaganyaan mission.
A Step Toward India's Space Ambitions
The success of the SpaDeX mission marks significant progress in India’s space program. The docking technology showcased is pivotal for future missions, including the Chandrayaan-4 lunar exploration, Moon sample return missions, and the ambitious Bharatiya Antariksh Station.
Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh emphasized the importance of SpaDeX, noting its critical role in supporting India’s long-term space goals and enhancing capabilities for sustainable, human-centric space exploration.
With PSLV-C60 and SpaDeX, India continues to solidify its position as a global leader in space technology, inspiring innovation and opening new frontiers for exploration.
