Chandrababu Naidu Pushes for Fast-Track Completion of Andhra Pradesh Railway Projects
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to expedite the completion of ongoing railway projects across the state. During a review meeting at the state secretariat in Amaravati on Tuesday, Naidu emphasized the importance of swiftly finishing these projects, especially in light of the Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav's assurance to support projects worth ₹72,000 crore in the state.
Naidu discussed the progress of key projects with state and railway officials, including issues related to land acquisition, project delays, and economic needs. Concerned about the slow pace of development, he stressed that delays caused by the previous government’s policies must be addressed immediately. The Chief Minister urged officials to take prompt action to resolve land acquisition issues and complete the projects on time.
To ensure smooth execution, Naidu proposed forming a task force comprising officials from the railway, revenue, and roads and buildings departments. He also approved the release of ₹20 crore for acquiring 11 acres of land for the Nadikudi-Srikalahasti railway line and set a four-month deadline for completing the Kotipalli-Narsapur railway line.
Additionally, Naidu ordered the swift commencement of the Sattupalli-Kovvur line post land acquisition and called for a detailed discussion on the Kadapa-Bengaluru railway line due to recent alignment changes. He set a target of three years for the completion of ongoing railway projects and four years for doubling works, emphasizing the importance of interlinking road, rail, and air networks to maximize project efficiency.
State Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy, along with officials from various state and railway departments, attended the meeting.
