Chandrababu Naidu Receives Relief in AP High Court
During his tenure with the TDP, party leader Chandrababu Naidu received partial reprieve in the Inner Ring Road and free sand cases. The High Court issued an order halting any action against Chandrababu until further notice. Hearings on his anticipatory bail petitions for the Inner Ring Road and free sand cases have been deferred. The AP High Court postponed the IRR case hearing to the 29th of this month and the free sand case hearing to the 30th of this month.
Chandrababu participated in discussions regarding the CID-filed case on the Inner Ring Road. Due to the unavailability of the Advocate General, part of the ongoing investigation, the hearing for these cases was rescheduled to the 29th of this month. The CID submitted a 470-page additional affidavit regarding Chandrababu’s involvement, urging against granting bail in the Inner Ring Road case. They included around 200 items detailing changes in alignment and the inner ring road’s association with the acquisition of heritage lands. This particular case was postponed to the 29th.
In another instance concerning irregularities in the free sand policy, where significant revenue loss occurred amounting to hundreds of crores, Siddharth Agarwal presented arguments on behalf of Chandrababu. He stands as A3 in this case. As the Attorney General wasn’t available, the hearing was deferred to the 30th. The AP High Court instructed the CID to withhold any action until further investigation is conducted in both cases.
