Chandrababu Naidu Vows to Restore Andhra Pradesh's Capital Status
In a resounding proclamation, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu has pledged to rectify the grave errors he perceives in Andhra Pradesh's governance under Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy's leadership. He asserts that the state, once home to the futuristic city of Amaravati, now finds itself without a capital.
Naidu laments the abandonment of Amaravati, a city conceived with grand visions, and the plight of thousands of farmers who sacrificed their lands in vain. Promising to restore the dreams of Amaravati's development, Naidu declares that the TDP will not let the farmers' sacrifices go in vain.
The four-year anniversary of the Amaravati movement saw protests led by the Amaravati Parirakshana Samithi in 29 villages. These demonstrations symbolize the enduring resistance against the decision to establish three capitals in 2019, a move that sparked the Amaravati movement.
Nara Lokesh, the TD national general secretary, condemned Chief Minister Jagan's actions, accusing him of destroying infrastructure and the public capital of Amaravati. Despite Jagan's efforts, Amaravati remains steadfast, and Lokesh pledges to rejuvenate the city's prospects when the TDP regains power.
