Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan Unveil First Candidate List for Andhra Pradesh Assembly Elections
In a significant move ahead of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly polls, leaders of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the Jana Sena Party, Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan respectively, jointly revealed the first list of candidates comprising 118 names. The allocation earmarks 151 assembly seats for Chandrababu Naidu's party, while the Jana Sena Party will contest the remaining 24.
Key figures included in the lineup are Naga Lokesh, slated to contest from Mangalagiri, and TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu, who will vie for the Kuppam constituency. Notably, the seat distribution strategy accommodates the possibility of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) joining the alliance, with discussions currently underway.
"This coalition is geared towards shaping the future of the state, marking the initial stride towards a greater endeavor," remarked Naidu during a press conference at his Andhra Pradesh residence, underscoring the significance of the TDP-Janasena alliance.
The TDP's list comprises 94 nominees, with 23 newcomers making their debut in the political arena. Meanwhile, the Jana Sena Party has disclosed candidates for five seats, including Lokam Madhavi for Nellimarla and Konathala Ramakrishna for Anakapalli, among others, with the remaining 19 names set for announcement soon. As the electoral landscape evolves, the unveiling of the candidate list sets the stage for intensified campaigning in the run-up to the elections.
