Chandrababu Naidu to Build Personal Residence in Amaravati
After years without a permanent residence in Andhra Pradesh post the state's bifurcation in 2014, Chief Minister and TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu has decided to construct his own house in Amaravati. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Naidu announced the purchase of a plot for the purpose, stating that his wife, Nara Bhuvaneshwari, will oversee the construction. "My focus remains on building the capital city, while my family will manage the house construction," he said.
Currently, Naidu resides at a rented guest house in Undavalli, near the Vijayawada-Amaravati road, owned by businessman Lingamaneni Ramesh. He also has a bungalow in Hyderabad and an ancestral home in Naravaripalli, Tirupati district. A camp office and residence are under construction in Kuppam, his native constituency.
According to a TDP leader, Naidu purchased over five acres of land in Velagapudi village, close to the interim secretariat complex. The plot was acquired from farmers who were given returnable residential plots under the Amaravati development plan.
Surrounded by roads on all sides, the plot is near key facilities, including gazetted officers’ quarters, bungalows for judges, and the Amaravati Government Complex. A portion of the land will house Naidu’s residence, while the rest will be allocated for landscaping, security quarters, and parking. Soil testing is currently underway, and the foundation stone will be laid soon.
This marks a significant step for Naidu, who aims to establish both a personal home and a world-class capital city for Andhra Pradesh.
