Coca-Cola will increase its Telangana investments.
Coca-Cola has chosen to increase its Telangana investments by double. These will also include the greenfield factory that is being built in Siddipet, in addition to the Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages facility in Ameenpur.
Top Coca-Cola executives met with a Telangana team in New York headed by Industries Minister KT Rama Rao.
For the Siddipet plant's installation of new lines, which is anticipated to be finished by December 2024, HCCB has committed an extra expenditure of Rs. 647 crore.
In the Karimnagar/Warangal area, a second greenfield manufacturing site of a comparable size is also planned. With this new plant, Coca-Cola would have invested more than Rs. 2,500 crore in production facilities overall. According to a formal announcement, this is one of Coca-Cola's quickest capacity additions in recent memory.
The Telangana team held a meeting with James McGreevy, Vice President (PPGR) of Coca-Cola, in New York. He noted that because India was Coca-Cola's third-largest market worldwide, the company had big intentions to expand its operations there. HCCB committed Rs 142 crore for the expansion of the Ameenpur facility in 2020 as part of this development. HCCB and the Government of Telangana had signed an MoU on April 7, 2022, committing to spend Rs 1,000 crore in the Siddipet facility.
The firm has opted to quadruple its investments, according to authorities, bolstered by the assistance of the Telangana government, swift completion of their factory that is now under construction, and significant development in the area.
