Congress Leads Strongly as Jubilee Hills By-Election Counting Enters Final Rounds
Counting for the highly anticipated Jubilee Hills by-election began on Friday morning under tight security at the Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad. A total of 58 candidates are in the fray, and counting has been scheduled across ten rounds to determine the winner from one of the city’s most high-profile constituencies.
As of the eighth round of counting, Congress candidate V. Naveen Yadav has established a decisive lead over BRS contender Maganti Sunitha. In Round 8, Congress registered 79,591 votes while BRS secured 57,937, giving the Congress a strong lead of 21,672 votes. BJP candidate Lankala Deepak Reddy remained a distant third with 14,223 votes.
The momentum for the Congress was visible from early rounds. After Round 2, Naveen Yadav led by 2,995 votes. By Round 4, the lead grew to 9,559, reflecting steady gains across booths. Round-by-round figures show consistent widening of the margin, signalling a strong preference for Congress in this crucial by-poll.
