Congress and BJP Both Undermining Constitution: KTR
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao has accused both the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of systematically undermining constitutional values while publicly claiming to protect them. Addressing party leaders and supporters at Telangana Bhavan during Republic Day celebrations, KTR said constitutional norms were being violated at both the State and Central levels.
Targeting the Congress leadership, he alleged that Rahul Gandhi’s “Nyaya Patram,” released ahead of the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections, had turned into a document of injustice after the party came to power. He pointed out that BRS MLAs who defected to the Congress were now sharing the dais with Rahul Gandhi, despite his earlier promise of enforcing strict anti-defection laws.
KTR accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of weakening law and order and eroding democratic values in Telangana. He claimed that various sections of society, including SCs, STs, BCs, farmers, women, students, and senior citizens, were facing injustice under the Congress government.
Referring to the alleged custodial death of Karra Rajesh in Kodad, he criticised the silence of the Chief Minister and senior ministers. KTR also alleged suppression of media freedom and arrests of journalists.
Citing Dr BR Ambedkar, he warned that even a strong Constitution depends on the integrity of those who implement it.
