Coronavirus Can Withstand A Temperature Of 92 Degrees

There have been certain misconception among some of the people that the deadly COVID-19 virus, on reaching temperatures close to room temperature will not exist and eventually be killed.

However, neither summer time nor room temperature is enough to kill the virus. According to a recent research, temperature close to the boiling point is is required to kill the virus.

Research found out that the virus can withstand up to 92 degrees Celsius which is just 8 degrees less than boiling point. It also revealed that the virus will not exist at or above temperature of 92 Celsius only if it is kept in the same environment for atleast 15 minutes.

Earlier, people though that virus doesn’t even exist at room temperature and country would be able to beat it because of our hot temperatures.

Around the world, while different experts have varying views on whether sunlight and heat can limit growth and longevity of the virus, they all agree that observing proper hygiene is more effective in preventing spread. However, the coronavirus is known to be sensitive to three things: Sunlight, High temperature, and Humidity. Sunlight affects the ability of a virus to grow while heat deactivates it.
