Darbar Lands In A Political Controversy!

Movies often face criticism and get caught in controversies upon their release. The same is the case with superstar Rajinikanth’s Darbar, released on 9^th January. The movie had a solid pick-up on the big screen and received a good response from the audience of Tamil Nadu, AP, and Telangana and other parts of the world.

However, one dialogue from the film has raised some questions and filmmakers are being forced to give it second thoughts. "Shopping from jail," dialogue from the film is allegedly based on former Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa's close friend Sasikala.

Sasikala’s lawyer, Raja Sendhoor Pandian, has warned that the controversial dialogue should be removed from the film or he will file a case against both Murugadoss and Superstar Rajinikanth. The producer of the film, Lyca Productions, has now decided to remove the said dialogue, to avoid controversy. Meanwhile, Rajanikanth fans have been quite disappointed with this decision. Lyca Productions made an official announcement about the same on Twitter.

This has not stopped the movie lovers from getting their tickets booked for the show. Talking about the film, Rajinikanth’s character, Aaditya Arunasalam, plays the Mumbai Commissioner of Police. Apart from Rajinikanth, Darbar also stars Nayanthara, Yogi Babu, Suniel Shetty, Nivetha Thomas, and others. The film is directed by AR Murugadoss, and the music of the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
