Daughter of Slain MP Raises Concerns Over Criminal Infiltration in Politics
Dr. Suneetha Narreddy, daughter of former MP YS Vivekananda Reddy, has voiced apprehensions about the entry of criminals into legislative bodies, warning that it could obstruct the course of justice. Reflecting on her father's untimely demise in March 2019 under suspicious circumstances, she highlighted the national attention drawn to the case and the lingering speculation surrounding the motive behind his murder.
Addressing reporters in Hyderabad, Dr. Suneetha suggested that political conflicts within the YSR family might have instigated the plot to assassinate her father. She pointed to disagreements over the choice of candidate for the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat, indicating a potential motive rooted in the family's political legacy.
Despite expressing disinterest in politics herself, Dr. Suneetha emphasized the paramount importance of seeking justice for her father. She stressed the detrimental impact of allowing accused individuals into law-making bodies, asserting that such influence could undermine the integrity of the legal process.
Specifically, Dr. Suneetha called for vigilance in the upcoming elections in Kadapa, urging voters to prevent Avinash Reddy from winning the seat. She underscored the necessity of ensuring a fair and impartial legal environment, free from the influence of individuals with vested interests.
