EC Announces Dates for 2024 Lok Sabha Elections, Telangana Polls Set for May 13

The Election Commission of India (EC) revealed the schedule for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on March 16. The polls will span across 7 phases from April 19 to June 1, covering all 543 constituencies in the country. Telangana, comprising 17 Lok Sabha seats, is scheduled to vote in a single phase on May 13, with results expected by June 4.
The parliamentary constituencies in Telangana include Adilabad, Peddapalle, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Zahirabad, Medak, Malkajgiri, Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Chevella, Mahbubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Nalgonda, Bhongir, Warangal, Mahabubabad, and Khammam. The winners from the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in Telangana are listed, highlighting the diverse political landscape of the state.
The model code of conduct came into effect from March 16 as announced by Rajiv Kumar, the chief election commissioner. A record-breaking 96.8 crore voters are expected to participate in the upcoming elections, making it a monumental exercise in the world's largest democracy. With 10.5 lakh polling stations and 1.5 crore polling officials and security personnel in place, extensive preparations are underway to ensure a smooth and fair electoral process.
