Emmanuel Macron’s ‘Dhurandhar’ Goodbye Video Wins Internet Applause
French President Emmanuel Macron created an unexpected cultural crossover moment following his India visit by sharing a farewell video set to the energetic title track of Dhurandhar. The tribute clip, posted on X, recapped highlights from his diplomatic tour and quickly went viral.
The three-day visit included meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, participation in the AI Action Summit in New Delhi, and engagements in Mumbai with Bollywood personalities such as Anil Kapoor, Manoj Bajpayee, Zoya Akhtar, and Shabana Azmi. Macron’s montage also featured moments of him jogging through Mumbai streets and enjoying Indian cuisine.
What truly captured online attention was the background score — the revamped Dhurandhar title track originally composed decades ago and reimagined for the action thriller starring Ranveer Singh. Social media users praised Macron’s song choice, calling it “Dhurandhar-level diplomacy.”
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film has become 2025’s highest-grossing Bollywood release, crossing ₹800 crore in India and over ₹1300 crore globally. Its sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, is slated for a March 19 release.
Macron’s creative farewell underscored the growing cultural synergy between India and France, particularly under the Horizon 2047 partnership roadmap.
