FIR Filed on 49 Celebs for Criticising BJP!

A total of 49 celebrities including filmmakers Mani Ratnam, Anurag Kashyap, actresses Revathy, Konkana Sen, writer Ramachandra Guha, Aparna Sen and others, who wrote an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi are now in trouble as an FIR has been filed on them by the Sadar police station in Muzzafarpur district of Bihar. They wrote a letter, raising their concern over growing mob lynching incidents in India and requested Modi to intervene and do something to reduce it. The letter said, “Criticising the ruling party doesn't imply criticizing the nation. An open environment where dissent is not crushed only makes for a stronger nation".
The case has been registered under sections of IPC- sedition, public nuisance, hurting religious feelings and provoking breach of peace, as the letter stated that 'Jai Shri Ram' had become a provocative war cry and asked PM to stop using ‘Ram’ like this. The letter also said that criticizing lynching in the parliament is not enough, but he should also take action against who does that. Advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha said that these celebrities are trying to reduce the country’s pride and criticizing the performance of the Prime Minister.
Also, 69 celebs such as Kangana Ranaut, director Madhur Bhandarkar and others opposed what is said by the 49 celebrities saying that the open letter showed political bias.
