Finalized! Heroine for Asuran Remake

Shriya Saran was last seen playing a cameo in the movie NTR Kathanayakudu. She is being considered to play the female lead in the upcoming Telugu film of Venkatesh, which is a remake of Tamil blockbuster movie Asuran.

If everything will go accordingly, Shriya Saran will portray the role of Manu Warrier in the Telugu remake of Asuran, which is set to star Venkatesh in Dhanush’s role. The upcoming movie will be bankrolled by Suresh Babu and Kalaippuli S Thanu.

The movie is expected to go on floors early next year. The producer Suresh Babu has contacted Ohmkar to direct this remake for Venkatesh and Shriya Saran. Currently, Ohmkar is enjoying the success of his recently released movie Raju Gari Gadhi 3 starring Avika Gor and Ashwin Babu.

Ohmkar shares a very good rapport with the Daggubati family and it is obvious that he couldn’t refuse when Suresh offered this film. However, he is yet to sign on the papers. Previously, Shriya and Venkatesh have worked together for a few movies such as Subash Chandra Bose (2005), Tulasi (2007) and Gopala Gopala (2015).

Ohmkar was supposed to direct Venkatesh in his horror and comedy-drama Raju Gari Gadhi 2. But, things did not work out. Asuran is based on popular Tamil novel Vekkai, which is directed by Vetrimaaran, the movie is the blood-soaked revenge story of a father, a farmer who avenges the ruthless murder of his son.
