Hyderabad – Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy and two senior officers, PV Sunil Kumar and PSR Anjaneyulu, have been booked for attempted murder following a complaint by Telugu Desam legislator and former MP Raghurama Krishna Raju. The complaint, filed at the Nagarampalem police station in Guntur district, alleges that Raju was detained, beaten, and held in illegal custody by the officers and their staff, and that a fake medical certificate was later issued by a government doctor.
The case was registered under several sections of the Indian Penal Code, including conspiracy, creating incorrect documents, issuing false certificates, attempted murder, causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons, forgery, and criminal intimidation. The incident allegedly occurred in 2021 when Raju was arrested by CID officials in Hyderabad and transferred to the CBCID office in Guntur without proper legal procedures.
