GHMC Deputy Mayor and BRS Tarnaka Corporator, Srilatha, Joins Congress Party

In a significant political development, the Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi (BRS) faced another setback as prominent leaders, including GHMC Deputy Mayor Srilatha and her husband, trade union leader Shoban Reddy, tendered their resignation from the party. This decision, marking their departure from the BRS, signifies a shift in political allegiance towards the Congress party.

The move comes in the wake of Srilatha and her husband's meeting with Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, culminating in their decision to join the Congress ranks. Their formal induction into the party is scheduled to take place at Gandhi Bhavan, in the presence of AICC Telangana affairs in charge Deepa Dasmunsi.

Srilatha's decision to switch parties adds to the recent exodus from the BRS, with notable figures such as former GHMC mayor Bontu Rammohan and former deputy mayor Baba Fasiuddin also aligning themselves with the Congress party.
