Gandhi’s Descendant Furious on Trump!

The US President Donald Trump calling Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as “The father of India” has triggered debates on social media. Some people said Trump did it for Indo-American votes while some others slammed Modi for accepting it and equating himself with Mahatma Gandhi. Trump praised Modi, saying, "I remember India before was very torn. There was a lot of dissension, fighting and Modi brought it all together. Like a father would. Maybe he is the father of India".
On this Trump comments, Mahatma Gandhi's great-grandson Tushar Gandhi told, "Those who feel the need to replace the father of the nation with a new one are welcome. Trump may also like to replace George Washington with himself".
Tushar Gandhi also said that he is very upset that Trump has equated Modi with Gandhi and also expressed his anger on Modi for accepting it. He asked if the US president would also like to replace George Washington with himself. He also said that the Central government's plan to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in a grand manner is just a formality.
On the other side, Modi is praising Gandhi with a series of tweets. “Today, on #GandhiJayanti, I will be in Ahmedabad for a special Swachh Bharat Diwas Programme on the banks of the Sabarmati. During the programme, we would recognise the commendable work of several Swachhagrahis who have worked round the clock to fulfil Gandhi Ji’s dream,” he wrote.
