Govt uninterested in Anganwadi stir, says TDP supremo Naidu
TDP supremo, N Chandrababu Naidu, said that the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government's disinterest is a reflection of its simple disregard for the 11-day walkout by Anganwadi workers who are demanding a solution to their unresolved issues.
Naidu stated that the Anganwadi workers' monthly salaries were increased from Rs 4,200 to Rs 10,500 in 2014, stating that the earlier TDP government had appropriately recognized their services. All welfare programs were freely available to Anganwadi employees under the TDP rule.
After the YSRC took control of the State, they began to experience difficulties. He stated that the rising costs of necessities have not resulted in a rise in their pay, and to expand the welfare programs to Anganwadi employees, several restrictions had been put in place.
The YSRC officials and police used terrible tactics to quell the Anganwadi staff's protests. He said that the fact that the striking Anganwadi staff is not even summoned for negotiations has reflected the dictatorial nature of the ruling party.
The Leader of the Opposition urged the State administration to act immediately to end the Anganwadi staff's prolonged strike.
