H1B visa selection will alter significantly
The Biden administration has suggested major H1B foreign worker programme modifications to help US work visa applicants. The USCIS will announce these new guide
lines on October 23.
According to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro N. Mayorkas, "the Biden-Harris administration's priority is to attract global talent, reduce employer burdens, and prevent immigration fraud and abuse."
Congress's yearly H1B visa ceiling of 60,000 will remain.
What modifications are proposed?
DHS is considering adjustments to the H1B registration selection process to minimise abuse and fraud. Individuals with more registrations have a better lottery probability. The DHS claimed in a statement that the new rule will streamline the selection process and improve justice and transparency by entering each person's registration once, regardless of how many registrations they submit.
By preventing connected organisations from filing numerous H1B registrations for the same beneficiary, integrity controls and selection process changes will limit abuse and fraud. According to PTI, Indian American immigration reform advocate Ajay Bhutoria said, "These proposed changes mark a significant step towards streamlining our immigration system and making it more accessible for highly skilled professionals and students from around the world."
The H1B programme allows US firms recruit the workers they need to satisfy their business objectives and compete globally while following to all US worker protection laws.
