Harish Rao Accuses Revanth Reddy Government of Administrative Instability
BRS leader T. Harish Rao has strongly criticised Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, alleging that frequent transfers of senior officials have destabilised governance across the state. Speaking to reporters, Rao claimed that more than 140 IAS officers and 20 District Collectors have been reshuffled since the Congress government assumed office in December 2023.
He argued that such frequent administrative changes hinder effective governance, noting that officers require several months to fully understand district-level challenges. According to Rao, key departments including Power, Singareni, GHMC, Education, Panchayat Raj, IT, Mining and the National Health Mission have witnessed repeated leadership changes, affecting policy continuity and coordination with the Centre.
Rao also criticised the government for granting service extensions to retired officials while transferring serving officers, calling the practice inconsistent with the Congress party’s earlier stance. He alleged that threats of transfers were being used to pressure officials, impacting morale among younger officers.
Beyond transfers, Rao accused the government of lacking transparency, claiming that a significant portion of government orders remain offline despite court directives. He further pointed to deteriorating conditions in public institutions such as MGM Hospital in Warangal and Jagtial Government Hospital.
Calling his remarks constructive rather than political, Rao urged the government to ensure stability in postings and allow officers to function independently to strengthen administration.
