Harish Rao Dismisses Alliance Rumours, Vows Solo Fight in Polls

BRS leader T Harish Rao has ruled out any electoral alliance with either Congress or BJP in the upcoming Telangana elections, asserting the party will contest alone and return to power with over 100 seats. Speaking during Telangana Formation Day celebrations, he reiterated that BRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao would be the next Chief Minister.
Rao sharply criticised both national parties for failing Telangana. He specifically warned the Congress government over its inaction on the contentious Banakacherla project being expedited by Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu. He announced BRS would approach the Supreme Court to block the project and accused the BJP of supporting Andhra Pradesh’s interests over Telangana’s, despite Telangana sending eight MPs to the Centre.
The former minister also slammed the Revanth Reddy-led Congress government for alleged corruption. He claimed that four contractors were favoured with ₹12,000 crore in payments, while dues of ₹1,200 crore to smaller contractors were ignored. “There’s no money for students or farmers, but plenty for pageants and luxury roads,” he said.
Harish Rao challenged CM Revanth Reddy to prove his claims of providing ₹21,000 crore in interest-free loans to women, offering to resign if proven true. He accused Revanth of being a Telangana traitor who serves Andhra interests, recalling his past opposition to Telangana slogans during the movement.
On another front, he demanded immediate action and release of CCTV footage in a misconduct case involving an MP and IAS officer related to Miss England Milla Magee. Rao declared that without KCR and the BRS, Telangana’s statehood wouldn’t have materialised and warned government officials against targeting BRS activists. He concluded by challenging Revanth to show one fulfilled promise during his 18-month rule.
