Harish Rao Lays Foundation For Check Dam At Manjeera River

Foundation stone for a check dam was laid by finance minister Harish Rao on the Manjeera river at Sardhana village of Haveli Ghanpurmandala of Medak district on Wednesday.
The check dam has been allocated a price of Rs 12.50 crore for its construction and it is build to benefit five villages and irrigate a total area of two lakh acres.
Harish Rao, while addressing to media said that with TRS coming to power, there have been in total 15 check dams sanctioned on Manjeera river. Until now, there has not been a single check dam sanctioned in united Andhra Pradesh.
“The check dams are being built with Rs 1,200 crore funds of NABARD. After the water reaches Konda Pochamma Sagar, it will be moved to Bollaram Mattadi from then to Sardhana check dam, Kuchana check dam,” Harish Rao said.
These 15 dams will be constructed from Fasalwadi village to Sardhana which are aimed to irrigate 25,000 acres.
