Hoisting the National Flag at Home: Do’s and Don’ts

The Central Government’s call for Indian citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes has received a great response all over. As a part of the campaign, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged people to hoist or display the flag at their homes from August 13 to August 15.
Modi, in the start of the month, has also appealed people to change the display pictures to the national flag on their social media platforms. The idea has become successful. The govt is also confident that they will reach the target of 10 million households hoisting or displaying the flags on said dates.
Now, here are the rules set by the government that one have to follow (do’s and don’ts) while hosting the flag:
The national flag can be displayed or hoisted after sunset too.
The national flag should be in rectangular shape (3:2), but can be of any size.
Only those who hold important designations should display the national flag on their vehicles.
The damaged national flag should be disposed in private. People can burn them or use any method. Paper flags are not allowed to throw out after waving them.
One shouldn’t hoist the national flag in an inverse position.
The Indian flag should be flown simultaneously with any other flag attached to the same pole.
