Hyderabad Firms Selected To Manufacture VITAL Ventilators, KTR Express Happiness

National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has selected three companies operating from Hyderabad to manufacture VITAL(Ventilator Intervention Technology Accessible Locally) ventilators to treat critically-ill COVID 19 patients.

Earlier, three Indian companies were given the license to design their ventilators for the COVID-19 pandemic. These companies were Alpha Design Technologies Pvt Ltd, Bharat Forge Ltd and Medha Servo Drives Pvt Ltd.

IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao on Thursday expressed his happiness and pride in Hyderabad’s firms being selected for designing and providing ventilators to be used in the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Absolutely a pleasure to see all three entities having operations in Hyderabad. The US-India collaboration is vital to both nations’ strategic interest and growth,” Rama Rao tweeted. The Minister made a point to mention the original tweet of US Consular General in Hyderabad Joel Reifman who in his tweet expressed similar sentiments,” KTR expressed his feelings.

These ventilators with flexible design and high-pressure offer a simple, affordable option for treating critical patients while freeing up traditional ventilators for those with the most severe COVID-19 symptoms.
