Hyderabad’s First Private Space Museum in Collaboration with ISRO!
In what we could call it a pride moment, Hyderabad’s first private space museum in collaboration with Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) was inaugurated on Friday! The museum has different types of astronomical objects which can be understood by people through the help of 2D and 3D models. Dr. BG Sidharth, Director, BM Birla Science Centre said there was an international week of space exhibition before a few years and they have collaborated with ISRO in the event.
“We arranged an exhibition for four days on the topics in relation to space and it drew attention from the students. After seeing this response, we thought to start a permanent space museum. And then Birla management and ISRO agreed to open a space museum,” he added. Several exhibits and models of excellent caliber were provided by ISRO to the museum and these models show the evolution of Indian space starting from Rohini satellite.
Sidharth revealed that the museum is world-class and they are getting an overwhelming response from the students and the public. A science enthusiast also expressed his happiness over the opening of this unique museum and said that he came from Maharashtra to visit this museum and there are many interesting models. “Seeing the PSLV, GSLV and other models is a very good experience. There is so much to learn about space from here,” he added.
