In many areas, Hyderabad will surpass Chennai and Bengaluru: KTR.
IT Minister KT Rama Rao boasted that Hyderabad was expanding exponentially, citing the influx of skilled workers from all over India as a reason for Telangana's success. Our voyage has only begun, yet already Hyderabad will have passed cities like Chennai, Bengaluru, and Pune. To paraphrase what Rama Rao remarked, "We Hyderabadis take a lot of pride in the way the city is shaping up."
According to NASSCOM, in 2021-22, one-third of all new technology employment in India was in Hyderabad. According to Rama Rao, the situation improved even more in the 2022–23 fiscal year, with 44% of all new technology jobs in the country being established in Hyderabad. On Monday, the Minister visited One Golden Mile, Kokapet, Microchip Technology's state-of-the-art Semiconductor Design and Development Facility Centre in India.
While putting things into perspective, the Minister who spoke on the occasion noted Hyderabad's rapid expansion. In 2014, 3.23 million people were working in Hyderabad's IT industry; by 2022-23, that number is expected to reach 9.05 million. Similarly, he stated that Telangana's IT exports had increased from Rs.56, 000 crore in 2014 to Rs.2.41 lakh crore in 2017.
Hyderabad is where many vaccines are developed.
The city was experiencing a new wave of vertical development. The influence of the microchip could be felt across industries, from transportation to aerospace and beyond. The Minister said that Microchip Technology should come to Hyderabad because it is the country's centre for life sciences. He estimated that almost one-third of the world's vaccinations came from Hyderabad and 40% of India's pharmaceuticals.
In total, we manufacture nine billion doses of vaccines annually. Rama Rao predicted that by next year, 14 billion vaccine doses would be manufactured in Hyderabad, accounting for 50 per cent of global output. Hyderabad had India's largest medical devices park and its largest vaccine manufacturers. He further claimed that the largest stent factory in the world was located in Sultanpur Medical Devices Park.
The Minister announced that the State government established Telangana Mobility Valley, an automotive industry hub. He said that Intel, Bosch, and other international firms had already partnered with the State government to make the most of the mobility valley and that some cities in the country had to embrace the chance first, and that city was Telangana.
The city of Hyderabad, India, could be a game-changer for environmentally friendly transportation. Future mobility, he said, was all about sustainability in the next couple of decades, with a concentration on net zero and carbon neutrality.
To propel Hyderabad to the forefront, Mobility Valley was established. Please consider becoming a knowledge partner with us, Microchip. Similarly to how Genome Valley catapulted Hyderabad into the vaccine capital, Rama Rao predicts that Telangana Mobility Valley would position the state as a key hub for environmentally friendly transportation.
