IndiGo Begins Processing Refunds for Flights Cancelled in December
IndiGo has announced that refunds for all flights cancelled between December 3 and December 15, 2025, are now being processed, bringing relief to thousands of travellers affected by the airline’s operational disruptions. Passengers will receive refunds directly to the original mode of payment. The airline noted that depending on the banking systems involved, the refunded amount may appear as one or two separate transactions.
In an effort to ease customer inconvenience, IndiGo has also introduced a complete waiver on change and cancellation fees for all journeys scheduled up to December 15. Passengers can reschedule or cancel their bookings without penalty by using the dedicated link provided by the airline or visiting its official website. This temporary waiver aims to help travellers manage disrupted plans more comfortably during the ongoing situation.
The airline issued an apology for the widespread delays and cancellations, acknowledging the severe inconvenience caused. IndiGo said that its ground teams, call centre staff, and backend operations are working round the clock to stabilise the system, handle refund queries, and accommodate rebooking requests. The airline further assured passengers that restoring normalcy remains its highest priority.
The cancellations earlier this month led to significant frustration among domestic and international travellers, with several airports reporting overcrowded help desks and long queues. By accelerating refunds and offering flexibility in travel plans, IndiGo aims to rebuild trust and mitigate the impact of the disruptions. The latest communication from the airline signals progress in addressing customer concerns while efforts continue to fully normalise operations.
