"India Legal" Article Regarding the Illegal Detention of CBN

The apprehension and detention of Chandrababu Chandrababu, former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, is viewed as a political action by India Legal, a leading legal publication. It is considered evidence of political manoeuvring within the country and the use of the police for political ends.
The case against Chandrababu should be decided by the Supreme Court as a matter of national importance. The detention of Chandrababu is featured prominently on the cover of the 16th issue of India Legal this month. The article titled "Chandrababu: Another Scapegoat" emphasises that his detention is not a new occurrence in the country, as numerous prominent leaders have encountered similar circumstances in the past.
The article questions the role of the CID in the Chandrababu case, suggesting that the police have become instruments in the hands of political leaders. It emphasises that courts have frequently erred when police have acted excessively. The article makes special mention of Chandrababu's post-arrest tweet in which he claimed to have selflessly served the Telugu people for 45 years and was willing to jeopardise his life for them.
It is regrettable that the CID was unable to produce evidence following his apprehension. The article also cites an interview with AAP member of parliament Sanjay Singh, who stated that Chandrababu and Manish Sisodia both faced similar circumstances. According to the magazine, neither Manish nor Chandrababu were implicated in any form of corruption and are merely political scapegoats.
