India objects abusive language used by Pakistan in ICJ

During the hearing of former Indian Navy officer Kulbhushan Jadhav, Indian lawyer Harish Salve expressed strong objection to the use of abusive language by Pakistan and has urged the court to draw the red line. The trial of Kulbhushan case began on Monday in the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and will be carried out for coming 4 days.

The transcript presented by Pakistani counsel had words like shameless, nonsense, disgraceful and Harish Salve said that India objects of being represented in this manner in international court.

He said, "A criticism of a sovereign state of the case made out of the other state must be in language consistent with the dignity of other states. Humpty Dumpty has no place in this court".

Taking on Pakistan Salve further said that as Pakistan has nothing with them it is hammering the table while India has put forth all the facts and said that he won't use the same abusive language as Pakistan did as Indian culture does not allow him to do so.

While India is fighting the trial to seek justice to its retired navy officer who is sentenced to death by Pakistani military court, the ICJ is expected to deliver its verdict on the same in the summer of 2019.
