India’s Covid-19 Tally Crosses 7 Lakh-Mark On Tuesday

The total number of Coronavirus cases in India has now crossed the seven-lakh mark on Tuesday after a single-day spike of 22,252 infections.

22,252 fresh cases and 467 deaths in the last 24 hours pushed the total cases in the country to 7,19,665 and the death count to 20,160. Two days ago, India surpassed Russia’s total coronavirus cases and now trails United States and Brazil in the number of COVID-19 cases.

It took 110 days for coronavirus cases in the country to reach one lakh, while just 48 days more to go past the seven-lakh mark. Also, the country took only five days to Rea h seven lakh mark from six lakh.

Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Gujarat have reported the highest number of cases. However, the recovery rate is rising and now stands at 61.1 percent.

Meanwhile, Centre has said that Face masks and hand sanitizers are no more essential products as their supply is sufficient in the country and, therefore, are now kept out of the purview of the Essential Commodities.
