Iranian Planes' Sudden Dash to Oman Fuels Speculation

Three Iranian government aircraft unexpectedly landed in Oman, sparking speculation of covert diplomatic activity amid escalating tensions with Israel. The planes—two Airbus A321s and one A340—landed in Muscat, Oman's capital. These aircraft, bearing call signs JJ25, JJ26, and JJ28, included Iran’s main presidential jet, which has previously transported President Masoud Pezeshkian.
The unusual flight activity, without any official statement, has led to theories ranging from peace negotiations to high-level evacuations. Some reports suggest a fourth Iranian aircraft may also be en route, although this remains unconfirmed via flight tracking data. These developments align with reports from The War Zone (TWZ), indicating Iran might be seeking secret talks to de-escalate its conflict with Israel.
Iran and Oman share strong diplomatic ties, with Oman historically serving as a mediator between Tehran and Western powers. This adds weight to the theory that Iran may be initiating backchannel diplomacy. Others speculate that the planes may be used for evacuations, considering Israel’s relentless strikes on Iran in recent days.
Despite public defiance, Iran has reportedly begun reaching out to foreign governments for possible negotiations. Iran's UN mission, however, rejected any talks with the U.S. under pressure. The lack of transparency has only intensified speculation about Iran's real intentions.
