Jaanu Teaser Review – Extremely Disappointing

It’s been a long time since Jaanu, the official remake of a Tamil super hit film 96, was announced. Since then, Telugu movie lovers are eagerly waiting to get the first glimpse of the film. Everyone expected that Samantha will rock in an emotional role as it is not new for her. We have seen her in emotional scenes in a few Telugu films. And we also know Sharwanand for his natural acting and boy next door charm.

But, much to the people’s shock, both Sharwanand and Samantha have disappointed their fans high time. The problem is that many Telugu people have already watched the original film, and they feel something is lacking in the Telugu teaser. According to the audience, the makers have failed to retain the same feel of the original. Director C Prem Kumar, who made the original, has directed this film too, and it seems like he has made little change to the look of the characters and scenes in particular.

For this reason, we feel a déjà vu when we see Samantha’s attire and the one crying scene. We cannot blame Samantha or Sharwanand for this as they did their best to re-create the magic. But somehow the teaser is not up to the mark. Also, the first 10 seconds lack clarity.

Samantha’s acting, though good, feels like we have seen her somewhere in a similar role, maybe in Nani starrer Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu. However, the teaser will work for those who haven't watch 96. To know if the director made any changes in the film, we have to wait until the official trailer gets released. Produced by Raju and Shirish, Jaanu will be hitting the screens on 14 February 2020, on the eve of Valentines’ Day.
