Jagan To Lay The Foundation For Kadapa Steel Plant

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy laid the foundation stone for the AP High-Grade Steel Corporation (Kadapa steel plant) today at Jammalamadugu in Kadapa district. Jagan becomes the third Chief Minister to lay the foundation stone for the same project. It was first his father Dr. YS Rajasekhar Reddy, who laid the foundation stone in 2007.
Earlier in November, YS Jagan’s Cabinet had approved land allotment for the high-grade steel plant. At the inauguration event, amongst other local leaders, District Collector
Following an MOU signed by Jagan with National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC), for the supply of iron ore to the proposed steel plan on December 18, 2019, the latter will supply five million tonnes of iron ore to the AP High-Grade Steel Limited per year.
Also, on December 27, 2018, the then chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu laid the foundation stone for the Kadapa steel plant at a different location at Kambaladinne village with an outlay of Rs.18000 crore.
