Jagan to Delete his Name from Voters List?
Returning Officer Satyam said that the election authorities in Andhra Pradesh have received an online application for deletion of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) President Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy from the voter list.
The application requests to delete his (Jagan’s) name from the electoral rolls of Bhakarapuram in Pulivendula Assembly constituency of Kadapa district.
When a poll officer contacted Jagan’s personal secretary, he denied submitting any such application.
The officer who then confirmed that some unknown person has sent an application to delete Jagan’s name from the voting list has filed a complaint against him.
The election authorities in Andhra Pradesh have received nearly 10 lakh such applications over the past two weeks, of which half of the applications have been rejected.
Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Gopal Krishna Dwivedi said they were looking into more. He also said 446 cases were registered against people, who submitted fake applications for deletion of voters.
For a long time, TDP and YSRCP are blaming each other for submitting applications to delete names of voters from the list.
