Jayasudha, a well-known actress in Tollywood, has joined the BJP.

BJP general secretary and Telangana in-charge Tarun Chug gave Jayasudha a warm welcome as she joined the party during an event at the party's office in Delhi.
On Wednesday, Jayasudha, a well-known Telugu actor and former MLA, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). At an event held at the BJP office in Delhi, Tarun Chug, who is in charge of Telangana for the party, welcomed her as a new member.
G. Kishan Reddy, the Union Minister for Tourism and the President of the BJP in his state, and D. K. Aruna, the national vice-president of the party, were also there. A few days after Kishan Reddy met her and officially invited her, Jayasudha joined the BJP. Since last year, there have been rumors that she is going to join BJP.
Eatala Rajender, an MLA for the BJP who used to be a minister, had also met Jayasudha and asked her to join the party. She was said to have given the BJP a list of requirements and told the leaders of the party that she would join if those requirements were met.
Reports say that BJP has promised to give her the party's ticket in the upcoming Assembly polls. She is expected to run for the seat she once held in the Assembly, which is Secunderabad. Inviting Jaysudha is part of the BJP's plan to get leaders from other parties and well-known people to join its ranks in order to improve its chances in the 2023 Assembly elections.
In the 1970s and 1980s, the actress had many leading parts in movies. In 2009, Congress leader and then-Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhar Reddy asked her to run for office. She was chosen to be a member of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly in 2009 from the Secunderabad district. In the 2014 elections, she was not able to keep the spot.
